Helena at tintintin* was contacted by MD of Pennine Plus, Geoff Higgins, back in June 2021. Geoff had seen the work that I had been doing for the Victoria project in Keighley and felt that I could help Pennine Plus.
Following an initial meeting, I immediately identified that Pennine Plus was a strong family business that had been operating for nearly 50 years. As well as employing different generations of the same family, they also offered a family feel for their other employees and customers. Therefore I immediately entered Pennine Plus into the Family Business of the Year category in the Bradford Means Business awards, which they proceeded to win! This award has added to their credibility and encouraged customer trust alongside gaining them significant free press coverage.
I have sought further to promote Pennine Plus’ family approach and the positive impact they have on the local community in Keighley. For example, I encouraged them to earn a Recognition Award from Dementia Friendly Keighley for their positive work into becoming dementia friendly and from this we were able to get further local media coverage.
tintintin* has also been working on developing their social media output and website. Following a thorough review of both, tintintin identified that more focus should be placed on Pennine Plus’ years of experience and expert services, rather than just product sales, and so recommended a number of changes to be made. We also focused on the years of experience that the company offers through generating nostalgia and using old photographs to engage the community. These changes have led to a positive increase in the number of enquiries for services.
