My name is Helena Dowsland and I’m the founder of tintintin* Marketing. I love working directly with businesses in and around the Aire Valley of West Yorkshire, providing marketing services and advice to help grow their businesses.

Then…

I earned a BA (Hons) in Business Studies from Leeds Metropolitan University (now Leeds Beckett) and did my placement year as in a sales and marketing support role at IBM and worked part-time throughout my A-levels and degree. After graduating, I started at Feature Radiators as an Administration Assistant and worked my way up from there learning anything and everything about running a small business. However as time progressed I developed a focus on Sales and Marketing.

Then, after many happy years as Head of Marketing and Business Development at Feature Radiators in Bingley, but following starting a business with my husband and taking on some freelance work, it was getting tricky to juggle 3 jobs! Therefore I made the decision during lockdown to step down from my role at Feature Radiators to enable me to focus on my other roles and have more time to develop my freelance work.

Now…

Having worked in marketing in the interiors industry for over 15 years, I have an in-depth knowledge of the home improvement sector. I have since gone on to work with other businesses in this industry, namely an electrical retailer, a hardware distributor and a kitchen design company as well as a number of specialist tradespersons.

As Marketing Director for the Victoria Therapy Centre, I am key to the growth of this psychotherapy clinic. As well as promoting the centre itself, I also offer personalised marketing services to many of the self-employed therapists that work there.

I now love to utilise my skills and experience to help a range of businesses achieve their marketing goals. However I recognise that sometimes help from other experts is required. Therefore I also work alongside a range of specialists for help on an adhoc basis when required. I have relationships with local web experts, photographers and graphic designers. Having spent many years working in and around West Yorkshire, my network of contacts includes a wealth of journalists, influencers and local business people.

On top of helping businesses directly, I have a personal passion for the benefit that can be achieved for the whole community, by improving the success of local small businesses and the quality of the shopping experience they offer.
